Activate “Read More” Link/Button

This is optional and not necessary. If you would like to shorten your posts and display a “read more” link please follow this tutorial.

1. Go to “Appearance” then “Customize”.

2. Click on “Content Archives”.

3. Where it says “Limit content to how many characters?” place a number like 500in the box.

4. Check the box that says “Display the featured image?”

5. Choose your image size and alignment.

6. If the preview on the right looks good then click “Save and Publish”.

Note:if your pictures do not look like the correct image size you chose… go ahead and click on “Save and Publish” then follow the steps below that say “Pictures are the Wrong Size”.

Pictures Are the Wrong Size

If your pictures are not showing the correct size you chose then you will need to run a plugin called “Regenerate Plugin”. This is how:

1. Go to “Plugins” then “Add New”. Next type in Regenerate Thumbnailsin the search area. Install it then activate it.

2. Next go to “Tools” then click on “Regen. Thumbnails”. This is where you can run it. If you have a lot of images then it may take a while for the plugin do it’s magic.

3. When it’s done please refresh your page and you should see the changes.

Choose a Different Image Size

Don’t like the image size choices? You can change the image size by doing the following:

1. Go to “Settings” in your dashboard then click on “Media”.

2. The normal “Thumbnail Size” is 150×150. If you would like to make this bigger, just change these numbers to something like 300×300.

3. Save your changes. Now we need to go back to “Content Archives” (step 1 again at the very top) then choose the new image size you just created.

4. Click “Save & Publish”.
